Heavy wet snow expected for West Michigan

Posted

West Michigan – A storm system will track from the Plains into the Ohio Valley during the next 24 hours bringing a significant snowfall  to the area.

Snow will develop for West Michigan late Friday evening and continue into late Saturday afternoon. Initially the snow may mix with rain especially along the lakeshore with the warmer water temperatures.

Snowfall amounts by Saturday evening will range from 3-6 inches across West Michigan, with isolated amounts over 6 inches possible. The heavier snow should be along and north of I-96, with less snow along and south of I-94.

The exact track of this storm is uncertain so snowfall amounts may need to be adjusted on Friday.
