Shots fired near party in northeast Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Gunshots were fired near a party on the city’s northeast side early Saturday morning, according to Grand Rapids Police.

Police said the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Layfayette Avenue NE. When authorities arrived they found a spent casing near the area. No injuries were reported.

Police said there was a party happening near that area around the same time, however authorities couldn’t determine whether the two incidents were related.
