GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--'The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck' welcomed its titular celebrity chef for a special grand opening of his newest restaurant Thursday.
Lots of fans had the chance to meet the chef at 'The Kitchen,' which is located inside the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Those who got VIP tickets received an autographed cookbook, and were able to get a photo with Puck.
The chef told FOX 17 that he's excited about the restaurant's future in Grand Rapids.
"You know, we are a restaurant for the locals--we want the locals to come first," said Puck, "I would not be here if we weren't doing well, so we are doing very well. Mostly, I am happy that so many people come back and come back again--that's really a sign of a great restaurant when you have a lot of return people."
The event was a chance to pay it forward, too--for every ticket sold, $25 went to the Heart of West Michigan United Way.
