Battle Creek man sentenced for making threats at WMU

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Battle Creek man has been sentenced in federal court to eight months of jail and two years of supervised release for making threats of a shooting at Western Michigan University.

Timothy Siangdun made the threat on Facebook after a previous trial and guilty verdict on related Facebook threats on March 12th. Siangdun pleaded guilty to the present charge on August 4th, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Siangdun is also barred from the Western Michigan University campus and is prohibited from posting any communication on any social media for the two year term of his supervised release.
