KALAMAZOO, Mich – Tactical units with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety surrounded a home in the 1300 block of Clinton Avenue on Wednesday evening, looking for a suspect they believe is tied to an armed robbery that happened earlier in the day.

It was around 2:00 p.m. when investigators say officers arrived to an armed robbery in progress in the 1500 block of James Street.  Three potential suspects were seen running from police.  One was taken into custody at the scene.

Witness accounts led police to the home on Clinton Avenue to try and find one of the other suspects.  A search warrant was executed at the home, where evidence tied to the initial armed robbery was recovered.

Investigators believe the potential suspect left the home prior to police arriving.

Investigators say they’ve been able to identify the two outstanding suspects, but at this point, aren’t releasing their names.

At this point in the investigation, no injuries have been reported.
