Report: Fatal shooting of Illinois police officer to be ruled suicide

FOX LAKE, Ill.–  WGN News is reporting that officials will announce Wednesday that Fox Lake police lieutenant Joe Gliniewicz death will be ruled a suicide.

The lieutenant was found shot to death last September.  He radioed he was chasing three suspects.  His death launched a manhunt and lock down at an area school.

Fox Lake police say they plan to release significant new information about the death of police lieutenant Joe Gliniewicz at a news conference Wednesday morning.

Police have not found any suspects.

Officers say Gliniewicz was shot twice with his own gun, but they have refused to release many other details two months after the deadly shooting.
