Two West Michigan companies get grants for expansion

LANSING, Mich. – Two West Michigan companies are receiving incentives from the Michigan Strategic Fund to expand in the area.

Byrne Electrical Specialists, Inc. in Rockford will be getting a $160,000 grant to help build a new facility in Lakeview in Montcalm County.  Byrne is investing $250,000 and Pickle Dock LLC is investing $500,000 to the project.  The expansion is expected to create 32 new jobs.

Byrne Electrical is a manufacturer and supplier of power and data distribution systems for homes, businesses, hotels and hospitals.

Also getting a grant is Hearthside Food Solutions, LLC of Kentwood.  The company received a $300,000 grant, after getting another $450,000 grant in May.  The company is investing $16.2 million to create an estimated 66 jobs.

Hearthside makes grain-based food and snack products for international brands.
