ALLEN PARK, Mich. — Just hours after head coach Jim Caldwell told the media that the team would not be making any changes to the coaching staff, the Detroit Lions have announced the firing of offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn, and OL assistant Terry Heffernan.

Detroit gave up seven sacks in their 28-19 loss to Minnesota on Sunday.

The Lions currently rank 29th in the NFL in scoring average (19.9 ppg) and last in rushing offense (60.8 ypg).

Quarterbacks coach Jim Bob Cooter will take over offensive coordinator duties. Tight ends coach Ron Prince assumes the role of offensive line coach.
