Pedestrian critically hurt; struck while crossing Beltline in Kentwood

KENTWOOD, Mich. -- One person has been rushed to the hospital in unknown condition after police say he was hit by a car while crossing the street early Friday morning.

It happened at around 2:45 a.m. in front of Uccello's on East Beltline in Kentwood.  Police say three guys were crossing the street to get to their hotel, when one of them was struck by a car.  Alcohol may have been a factor with the victim, according to officers on the scene.

The driver was someone who was heading to work.

The victim has been identified as Nathan Levandowski of Cedar Springs.  Kentwood Police say he is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
