Man hit by car while crossing street in Portage

PORTAGE, Mich. — A man has been hospitalized in unknown condition after police say he was hit by a car while he was crossing the street.

It happened at 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Shaver Road and South Westnedge Avenue.  According to police, Bradley Westfall, 44,  was crossing S. Westnedge and was hit by a car driven by a 59-year-old woman from Schoolcraft.  He was taken to the hospital and his condition is unclear at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
