Gun accidentally discharges in back of golf cart, injuring man

MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — A man was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after a gun accidentally discharged in the back of a golf cart shooting him, according to a release from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies said that Terry Apol, 57, of Grandville was a passenger in a golf cart on private property near 20 Mile Road when he was shot Sunday afternoon. There was a gun being carried in the back of the golf cart, which fired as they were riding through a field.

Apol was shot in his left upper arm. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
