GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police confirm that a 21-year-old man is in critical condition after he was intentionally hit by an SUV on the city's northwest side Saturday night.

Police told FOX 17 they are investigating a Felonious Assault involving a vehicle after an argument broke out between the victim and at least one suspect.

It happened on the 900 block Chatham Street and Lane Avenue NW around 9:30 p.m.

"Apparently, there was some type of altercation out in the street between a pedestrian and the occupants of a vehicle," said Sgt. Aaron Rossin with GRPD.

"The vehicle kept driving around the block, then ultimately came back and there was some type of an altercation again between them. Then the occupants of the vehicle struck the pedestrian before fleeing from the scene."

Police said they're looking for a large, dark colored SUV, possibly a Chevy Suburban-type vehicle.

Police are still searching for possible suspects at this time.
