Police: Catalytic converters stolen out of several cars in Kalamazoo Twp.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Police are looking for two men who allegedly stole car parts from area apartment complexes.

Police believe the thefts began during the overnight hours between the 2700 block and the 3200 block of West Main on the west side of Kalamazoo Township.

The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department said catalytic converters were stolen out of several vehicles. Police said most of the vehicles targeted were Chevrolet Cavaliers.    One of the victims saw two people in the 3200 block of West Main rushing off and police believe they may be connected to the incidents. The victim told police they originally thought one of the men may have been a security officer.

The first suspect is described as a male in his mid 20’s, with a close cropped beard, thick dark framed glasses and a darker complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket that said “Security” in white lettering. The man was last seen driving a gray VW Jetta or Passat. The second suspect is described as a male  in his mid 20’s with darker complexion. He was last seen driving a mid to late 90’s or early 2000’s Chevrolet pick up with a standard cab, with a rusted tailgate.
