GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Wyoming mother was found guilty Friday of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of her 18-month-old daughter, according to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office.

Rebecca Cotes was accused of neglecting her daughter’s medical condition, which Wyoming Police say caused the toddler’s death in March 2014.

Cotes faces up to four years in prison and will be sentenced Nov. 30, according to Kent County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Chris Becker.

According to MLive, a jury Cotes was found guilty of failing to hook her daughter up to blood-oxygen monitoring equipment the night of March 23.  The toddler’s tracheal tube slipped out and she suffocated, MLive reports.
