ArtPrize 2015 winners announced; Northwood Awakening & Higher Ground win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - After two and a half weeks of crowds and thousands of smartphone app votes, ArtPrize Seven crowns its winners tonight.

$500,000 in prizes were given out. Two artists went home with $200,000 each - one for the juried Grand Prize and one for the public vote Grand Prize.  Several other awards will be handed out in each of the judging categories.

35,481 visitors cast 422,763 votes in the two rounds of the public vote, according to ArtPrize officials.
