BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – A Battle Creek man says that he’s had at least 38 guns stolen from his home over the last nine months.
Battle Creek police say the 67-year-old man made the report to them on Wednesday. The man has suffered two strokes and has some diminished capacity. A guardian accompanied the man to the police station.
The guns are said to be both rifles and handguns, many of them military issue. They were apparently unsecured throughout his home on North 23rd Street.
Police say that some of the guns were American-made, but others were made in Russia, China, Japan, Sweden and France. Some were equipped with bayonets and some were made as long ago as the 1800s, but some were just a few years old. All told, the 38 guns were valued at more than $22,000.
Anyone with information should contact the Battle Creek Police.
