KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A 21-year-old man will spend between 15 and 50 years behind bars for the murder of his girlfriend.
According to Kalamazoo County Circuit Court, Korbin Tyler-Lavern Thomas was sentenced Monday for the charge of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Jazmyne Lyniece Gibson.
Gibson, 21, was found dead in January at Copper Beech Townhomes in Oshtemo Township.
Thomas was also ordered to pay $19,470 in fees and restitution, according to circuit court officials.
