MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. — One person is dead and two others were flown to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a head-on crash on Sunday night, and police say alcohol was likely a factor.

It happened on M-66 just north of 4 Mile Road in Blanchard.  According to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, a pickup truck crossed the center line and crashed into another car.  The driver of the car, identified only as a 24-year-old man from Owosso, was killed.  His 22-year-old female passenger was flown to the hospital.

The at-fault driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 47-year-old man from Greenville, was also flown to the hospital.  Police believe alcohol played a role in this crash.
