GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A house fire that broke out Saturday morning caused minor injuries to one person plus a cat.

Grand Rapids Fire Department says that the fire happened in the 1800 block of Sylvan St. SE around 8:30 AM Saturday morning. A full assignment – at least four trucks – responded and prevented it from spreading to the adjacent house. Fire crews finally left the scene later around noon.

There was one person inside that was injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officials say that a cat was also hurt by the fire and was taken to an animal hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
