Recall Roundup: Cribs, dishwashers, and outdoor patio furniture

BETHESDA, Md. — The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced more recalls this week, that could impact new mothers, backyard grill-outs, and your dirty dishes.

Below is the information on this latest batch of recalls.

Recalled crib

DaVinci Cribs — A metal bracket that connects the mattress support to the crib can break, creating an uneven sleeping surface or a gap. If this occurs, a baby can become entrapped in the crib, fall or suffer lacerations from the broken metal bracket.  About 6,000 new units are impacted the U.S.  The firm has received five additional reports of the mattress support brackets breaking and detaching.  Free replacement brackets/supports are available.  Click here for more information on this recall.

Recalled dishwasher

Bosch, Gaggenau, Kenmore Elite and Thermador Dishwashers — The power cord can overheat, posing a fire hazard.  About 149,000.  BSH Home Appliances has received 10 reports of the electrical cord overheating, including five reports of fire resulting in property damage. Recalled chair

Pier 1 Katerina Swivel Armchairs — The swivel armchair can tip backward while rocking and consumers can fall off, posing a fall hazard.  About 2,500 units are impacted.  Pier 1 has received five reports of the chair tipping over in stores with consumers in them, including one report of a consumer who received contusions and scratches. Return the chairs to Pier 1 for a full refund or store credit.  Click here for more information on this recall.
