Man dies in motorcycle crash

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A motorcyclist died Thursday night after crashing on the northwest side of Grand Rapids.

The crash happened just before 7:00pm near the intersection of Shawmut Blvd. and Wendover Road NW.  Witnesses tell Grand Rapids Police that the motorcyclist was driving north on Shawmut at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed.

The 26-year-old man driving the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.  His name is not yet being released.
