2 arrested following Battle Creek burglary and short police chase

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Two people were arrested following a and short police chase on Tuesday.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Capitol Avenue SW and I-94 in Battle Creek.

The Battle Creek Police Department said a 24-year-old and 26-year-old were taken into custody after police tried to pull them over, but they took off. After a short chase, the suspects tried to run off. The pair likely have connections to a burglary that happened in the 300 block of Wenworth Avenue that happened on September 26.

Police said the vehicle was stolen and was returned to the victim, an 84-year-old from Battle Creek.

The suspects will likely face multiple felony charges and were housed in the Calhoun County Jail
