THREE RIVERS, Mich. — A fisherman was arrested Saturday afternoon after authorities discovered a meth lab and a large amount of marijuana in his vehicle.

Troopers with the Michigan State Police said conservation officers found Bruce Lovell, 52, of Vicksburg, fishing near the Sturgis Dam around 3:30 p.m. After checking for a fishing license, they found he was in possession of marijuana. Police found additional marijuana, open intoxicants, and other suspicious drug related paraphernalia in his vehicle.

MSP was contacted to assist with the investigation and later found a meth lab with usable methamphetamine in Lovell’s vehicle.

Lovell was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail for operating and maintaining a meth lab, possession of meth, and marijuana, driving an unregistered vehicle, and open intoxicants, among other charges.
