HOLLAND, Mich. – A man was arrested Sunday in Holland, wanted for kidnapping a woman in Lansing, Illinois.
The investigation by the FBI and the Lansing (Ill.) Police Department let to the arrest. The man is being held in the Ottawa County Jail awaiting federal charges.
The FBI tells WGN in Chicago that a 53-year-old woman was assaulted by a man around midnight Friday in her home in Lansing, Illinois, and that he then used her car to drive her across the state line to Munster, Indiana. He stopped at an ATM there. Surveillance cameras on the ATM captured images of the suspect.
Investigators say the woman was able to escape when the man stopped briefly in Burns Harbor, Ind. Her blue Chevrolet sedan was found later in Holland.
