HOLLAND, Mich. – A Holland man has been charged with an armed robbery and police are looking into whether he is responsible for more recent robberies in the area.

Cornelius Cook-Bey, 59, was arraigned Monday afternoon for the armed robbery that happened Friday at the Meijer at 16th Street and Waverly.  The suspect went to the customer service desk, implied he had a weapon and passed a note demanding money.  He fled the scene on a bike, but was arrested later in the day.

Last Monday, the Macatawa Bank just down 16th Street from the Meijer was also robbed.  Police say that a nearby Speedway station has also been robbed recently.

Cook-Bey is being held at the Ottawa County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
