MUSKEGON, Mich. Two men wanted in connection in a series of shootings in Muskegon Heights are in custody.
Josiah Fousse and Kierelle Burns were arrested Thursday at a Grand Rapids hotel, according to Assistant Muskegon County Prosecutor Tim Maat. Fousse was charged with assault with intent to murder and Burns was wanted as a material witness. A third man was also arrest, but it is not known right now if he was connected to the shootings.
Fousse is charged with shooting Marlon Gresham on August 30 in the 600 block of East Hovey Avenue. Gresham suffered serious injuries. Four people were shot in the incident, including one person who died the next day, Thedrick Bryant. The shootings started a wave of shootings and violence in Muskegon Heights.
Burns was wanted as a witness to both the August 30 shooting and the September 5 fatal shooting of Darnell Byrd III. Byrd suffered a minor wound on August 30, before being killed September 5.
Investigators believe a third shooting death, that of Marquis Grider-Sims on September 4th, was also related.
