One person shot on Grand Rapids’ SE side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Police are investigating a shooting on Grand Rapids’ SE side.

The shooting happened at about 2:15pm in the 900 block of Merritt SE.  We are hearing that one person suffered a gunshot wound in the abdomen.  That person is said to have non-life threatening injuries.  He was not a resident at the location.

Grand Rapids police tell us that there was some kind of altercation in the alley north of Merritt.  There were reports of multiple shots being fired.  They are currently looking for one suspect who fled in a white Pontiac.  No other descriptions were available at this time.
