GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Kent County Sheriff’s Department celebrated their Equestrian Training Center Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Sheriff Larry Stelma also unveiled a plaque honoring the Secchia family for their role in helping build the 20,000 square foot facility, which includes stables, a tack room, viewing areas and meeting and classroom space.
The center allows for year-round training for officers and horses, along with work opportunities for inmates. The center is also used by local 4-H groups and school riding teams.
