GREENVILLE, Mich. – A 4-year-old child was killed Monday afternoon after being hit by a car in downtown Greenville.
The crash happened at the corner of Washington and Lafayette about 11:30am.
Officers tell us the boy and a family member were walking east across Lafayette when a car turning left from eastbound M-57 hit both of them. The boy was pronounced dead at the hospital. The family member also received minor injuries.
Officers are still interviewing witnesses. The driver of the vehicle is described as being “retirement age”.
