Man shot several times in Kalamazoo murder attempt

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department found a man shot several times after responding to a report of shots fired early Sunday morning.

Police say that they were dispatched to the 500 block of Gayle St. at around 2 AM Sunday morning in response to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a 29-year-old Kalamazoo man with multiple gunshot wounds outside one of the homes.

He is currently in stable condition at Borgess hospital, where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses say that they saw an SUV leave the scene shortly after the shooting.

Components associated with methamphetamine production were also found at the scene and were disposed of by police.
