Man charged with killing Lansing firefighter

LANSING, Mich. – Formal charges have been filed against a man accused of running down a Lansing firefighter with his car intentionally.

Grant Taylor was charged with Open Murder, Failure to Stop at an accident scene, resulting in death, and Fleeing a police officer Thursday.

Dennis Rodeman, a firefighter in Lansing, died after being struck by the vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

According to FOX 47, it happened at the corner of Jolly Road and Cedar Street in Lansing. Rodeman was struck following a confrontation with a man as the 35-year-old firefighter was collecting money for the “Fill the Boot” campaign. The charitable event raises money for muscular dystrophy.
