MUSKEGON, Mich. - A man facing charges in a deadly hit and run crash in August was arraigned in Muskegon County Wednesday.
Ronnie Claflin is charged with Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, causing death, in the crash that killed Susan Cummings. Cummings was riding her bike on Fruitvale Road in Montague Township on August 8th during a fundraising ride when she was struck. Claflin turned himself in a couple of weeks after the crash.
Claflin was supposed to be arraigned on August 28th, but that was put off until today. The trial attorney says they are still looking into more details as to where Claflin was the night before the crash.
If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison. He currently remains out of jail on a $150,000 bond.
