OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A pit bull that was found in Kalamazoo County that may have been used as a "bait dog."
"Little Bear" is recovering from extensive injuries. The SPCA of Southwest Michigan is nursing him back to health and looking to find him a loving home.
Little Bear was covered with both old and new scars, and his left ear was falling off. Volunteers say there are signs that someone used the dog in dog fighting more than once. Little Bear did not suffer many injuries around his head and neck, which indicates he may have been muzzled during the attacks.
The SPCA will continue to treat Little Bear until he is fit for adoption.
