PAW PAW, Mich. -- A fatal crash involving two semi-trucks and five cars shut down eastbound I-94 Thursday afternoon, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at about 2:15 p.m. near Exit 60 in Paw Paw, police said in a release. Police say the crash happened when a semi-truck rear-ended a Toyota SUV.
The driver of the SUV, a 72-year-old Illinois man, died in the crash. Four other people were taken to the hospital with injuries, according to a release.
Police said the semi-truck driver wasn't paying attention and didn't slow down for construction in the area.
Traffic was re-routed for three hours after the crash, police said.
