GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  If you are reading the FOX 17 App for Android or Apple devices, we thank you.  If you run an update of your app, you will see some cool new features.

Something you may notice right away as it was a common complaint – you can now watch live video in landscape view.  The screen will now rotate so you don’t have to watch the smaller video on the vertical hold.

Other things you can now do are in your control.  Under the menu tab on the top right of the Android app or the bottom left of the iOS apps, choose the My FOX feature.  There, you can customize what alerts you want to receive, (Breaking News, Weather, Traffic) set your zip code so you can get news tailored to your area, and you can submit pictures, video and news tips for our Problem Solvers right through the app.  Also, video weather forecasts and maps can be found under the weather tab.

Now for those of you who don’t have the FOX 17 News App – don’t you feel like you are missing out? All this, plus the news of the day and live video streams are available for free!  Go to the Apple App store or the Google Play store and search FOX 17 News to download the app.  You can also get a FOX 17 Weather App there too, with all sorts of extra weather information and alerts.

One note…make sure you get the WXMI app.  There is a Fox 17 in Nashville, TN (WZTV).  Don’t get them.
