BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Two people were arrested Saturday after police in Battle Creek said they tried using fake $100 bills at several area businesses.

Police were alerted when an 18-year-old woman ordered a milkshake Saturday night around 11 at the Big Boy on Columbia Ave. and paid with a $100 bill. Police said she left with the change but without the shake.

The woman was spotted at a nearby gas station where she was arrested. Police said they’ve been able to identify at least four businesses where the woman has tried passing off the fake bills.

A 31-year-old man was also arrested after police determined he was also involved in the scam.

Both are now facing charges.
