VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. — A 28-year-old man from Lawton, MI was found dead today at the scene of a car crash a little before 8 AM Saturday morning.

Van Buren County sheriffs say that they responded to a call of a single vehicle crash on the north side of 32nd street at the intersection of County Road 669.

According to the investigation, a 2005 Hyundai Sonata went off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was the only occupant in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe that the crash happened in the early morning hours before being called in by a passerby.

Speed appears to have been a factor in this crash.

The name of the driver is to be released after his family is notified.
