West Michigan – A slow moving storm system and cold front will bring a chance of severe weather on Wednesday. The Storm Predication Center has placed all of Lower Michigan in a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms. The primary threats would be large hail and damaging winds.
Low pressure will track into Iowa by Tuesday evening with scattered showers and thunderstorms crossing West Michigan. The thunderstorms should remain below severe limits.
Wednesday morning will be mostly cloudy with a few showers possible. The storm system will track into Minnesota with the trailing cold front into western Illinois.
The best chance of severe thunderstorms for West Michigan will be Wednesday afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms are likely as the cold front tracks into Lake Michigan and some storms could contain large hail and damaging winds.
