Two people killed, several injured in Ottawa County crash

CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, Mich.– Two people are dead and five others were injured following a two-car crash in Nunica.

Deputies say the collision happened Saturday around 7:00 p.m. on Apple Drive.

31-year-old Kori Kozak of Saginaw and 13-year-old Nicholas Weber-Maldonado were both killed when their car crossed the center line and crashed into a pickup truck. Kozak was found to not be wearing her seatbelt. A third passenger in the car, an 11-year-old girl was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

Four people inside the pickup truck were also injured in the crash including a 4-month-old and a 4-year-old girl whom were both riding in car seats.

The crash is still under investigation.
