One person injured in overnight shooting on Grand Rapids’ SE side

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– One person is recovering after an overnight shooting on the southeast side.

It happened around 3 a.m. at Park Place Apartments on Marshall Avenue in Grand Rapids’.

Witnesses say five black teens fled the scene, some in a car and others by foot. Officials say one of the teens is believed to have been the one who fired shots.

Grand Rapids Police tell us it’s too early to tell if this incident is connected to others that have brought unrest to the area.

On Tuesday a teen was shot and killed in the same area, and then another shooting happened the next day during a vigil for the victim.

The man has been taken to a local hospital and there’s no word yet on his condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call GRPD at 616-456-3400.
