HOLLAND, Mich. – A four-year-old boy is recovering after nearly drowning Sunday in a Holland pond.
According to Ottawa County officials, the boy wandered away from a group of several people at about 5:30pm on Hawthorn Pond in the 9800 block of Black River Drive. A passerby found the boy in the lake and pulled him out. He was not breathing and turning blue. The passerby started CPR on the boy.
When first responders arrived, the boy was sitting up and breathing. He was taken to a local hospital to be checked out.
