BETHEL TWP, Mich. — A 68-year-old woman from Ohio suffered minor injuries after the SUV she was driving ended up in the water on Wednesday.

It happened around 4:20 p.m. at the Rose Lake Access in Fiesta Shores.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was backing a trailer into the water to unload a boat. She got out of the vehicle while it was still in reverse.  Police said that despite her efforts the vehicle and trailer went into the lake and submerged up to the middle of the windows.

The woman suffered a minor injury to her leg and sought medical treatment later on. No one else was hurt.
