HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. - One person was critically hurt in a three-car crash in Holland Township Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on Chicago Drive between 112th Avenue and 104th Avenue.  The road was closed in both direction for about three hours.

Deputies say that Antonio Chavez, 57, was eastbound on Chicago Drive when he stopped.  He was rear-ended by another vehicle and pushed into the path of an oncoming semi-truck.

Chavez was pinned in his vehicle and had to extricated and then flown to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He suffered critical injuries.

The passenger in his vehicle, a 17-year-old, the driver of the vehicle that hit him, a 37-year-old Holland woman, and the truck driver, a 38-year-old Fennville man were all treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say that the sun may have impaired the eastbound driver's visibility during the crash.
