GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 15-year-old boy accused of stabbing his sister has been found able to head to trial.

Maxwell Hilton was found “criminally responsible” according to the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office.  The test was to determine if he was mentally ill at the time of the stabbing.  The case now moves to either the trial phase or a plea can be entered.

Hilton is accused of stabbing his 13-year-old sister repeatedly at their father’s home in Caledonia in March.  The girl survived.  A motive has not been revealed.
