PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Calhoun County Sheriffs arrested two people late Saturday night for assault.
Close to 1:30 AM, sheriffs say they were called to the 500 block of Limewood Drive to investigate a report of a large fight. Several people at the scene had been assaulted: one, a 34 year-old Battle Creek resident, was transported to the Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Three others refused medical treatment.
During the assault, one of the victims had their car stolen. At least two people were in the vehicle when it crashed not far from the scene. Suspects attempted to run but were found and caught.
One suspect was lodged for unlawfully driving away of an automobile (UDAA) and three counts of assault. The second suspect was lodged for one count of assault.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by the Battle Creek Police Department, Michigan State Police, Pennfield Township Fire Department, and LifeCare.
Names of the suspects and victims have not been released at this time.
