OTTAWA COUNTY – Deputies say a 7-year-old was airlifted to the hospital following a crash Thursday afternoon that injured at least 3 people.

The crash happened at the intersection of 32nd Avenue and Adams Street.

Deputies say a silver Ford Taurus driven by an 18-year-old failed to stop at a stop sign while heading south on 32nd Avenue, crossing into the path of an eastbound Chevy Blazer.

The teenager had three young siblings riding in the Taurus when the crash happened.  The 7-year-old among them was airlifted to the hospital and was unconscious when taken according to deputies at the scene.  Two other young siblings in the vehicle were taken to the hospital via ambulance with life threatening injuries.  The immediate conditions of all 3 patients hasn’t been released.

Deputies say the driver of the Blazer wasn’t injured.

A third vehicle traveling northbound on 32nd Avenue was also hit in the aftermath of the initial collision, but damage was said to be minor at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
