KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Kalamazoo Police are investigating a credit union robbery from Friday morning.

The robbery happened around 11:00am at the Consumers Credit Union in the 4000 block of Portage Street.

Police say the suspect entered the credit union with a Jimmy John’s box telling the employees that he had a delivery.  He then pulled out two black handguns and demanded cash.  He left the box after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, prompting police to activate the bomb unit to make sure he hadn’t left a device behind.

The suspect is described as a white male with dark, tanned skin.  He is believed to be 45-55 years old, weighing about 200lbs., and had noticeably bowed legs.  He was wearing a black coat, blue jeans, large-framed sunglasses and a tan fishing hat.  His hair was described as being black and curly and may have been a wig.

He is believed to have driven away in a red, older, 4-door sedan, similar to a Toyota Corolla.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-337-8994 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
