NORTON SHORES, Mich. – A Fruitport Township resident who may have been driving at least 100mph is dead this morning after losing control and crashing on Seaway Drive.

The crash happened just before 1:00am Thursday on eastbound Seaway Drive near U.S. 31.

Police say the driver, 26, had been southbound on U.S. 31 near Airline Road at a high rate of speed.  The driver lost control and vaulted onto the eastbound lanes of Seaway Drive.  Police say the driver of the 1999 white Mitsubishi appears to have not been wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
