Accidental fall kills man at Walker packaging plant

WALKER, Mich. — A man died following an industrial accident Wednesday morning. The accident occurred just before 10 a.m. at Profile Industrial Packaging located at 1990 Avastar Parkway NW in Walker. Walker Police said the 53-year-old man fell from a high place and was taken to the hospital.

Police said he died of his injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

Steve Ehmann, the company’s president, released a statement to FOX 17 News Wednesday night:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic accident this morning and passing of one of our long-time, beloved employeesWe are cooperating fully with authorities in the investigation. No words can adequately express our sympathies.  The safety of our associates is our number-one priority.  As we continue to investigate, our thoughts and prayers go out to our team member’s family and we are respecting their need for privacy at this difficult time.”
