West Michigan – Mostly cloudy skies and northeast winds kept temperatures well below average today. Highs struggled into the mid 60s to around 70 this afternoon, with the average high for this date in the lower 80s. Grand Rapids tied the record for the coolest high for July 8th of 68 degrees set in 2004. But, a slow warm-up is on the way.
High temperatures will warm into the mid-upper 70s for Thursday, except near 70 along the lakeshore.
Temperatures will warm into the lower 80s inland by Friday with mid 70s along the lakeshore. Highs will stay near average for West Michigan for the weekend into early next week.
